User manual
AIS keeps a record of every machine in the factory: when it arrived, its tag, who has it, its repairs, and when it goes.
What AIS is
AIS has two parts:
- The phone app. For work on the floor: taking a delivery in, scanning tags and serial numbers, handing machines over, reporting faults.
- The website. For the office and managers: orders, deliveries, machines, repairs, handovers, scrapping and people.
Every machine has one AIS tag. It is a QR code that AIS prints. You scan it with the phone to find the machine.
A machine's life in AIS:
An order is raised on the website.
The delivery arrives. A receiver takes it in on the phone. AIS makes one machine for each unit.
Each machine gets its AIS tag, and its serial number is scanned.
The machine is handed over to a person or a line. They scan it to receive it.
Faults are reported and repaired.
At the end it is scrapped.
Who does what
What you see depends on your role. Chapter 2 shows each role.
| Role | Mostly does |
|---|---|
| Delivery receiver | Takes deliveries in, scans tags and serial numbers. |
| Inventory manager | Keeps the machines and the store: tags, serials, details, To look at. |
| Assignment manager | Hands machines over to people and lines. |
| Maintenance manager | Repairs, planned work, recommends scrapping. |
| Administrator | Everything, and approves scrapping. |
Anybody signed in can report a fault, and receive a machine handed to them.
